"Agile Values and Principles in the Movies" Workshop
The goal of this workshop is to refresh and deepen the understanding of agile values and principles of the Manifesto for Agile Software development. We found out that almost everyone already heard about the Agile Values and Principles. As offering to go through them "again" sounds boring for many people, we invented a workshop format to overcome this hurdle. The key concept of the workshop is to combine learning with a fun element - watching movies and gamification (Best team wins some popcorn).
In this workshop we show scenes of movie blockbusters from YouTube, approx. 2 minutes long. Then we simply ask, "Which of the Agile Values and Principles did you recognize in the movie snippet?"
We form small teams and we bring printouts of the Manifesto for Agile Software development. So the teams start reading and discussing. Our experience shows this is great for team building, splitting up in teams brings some competition and fun as well.
